However, finding it too much trouble to source the punches himself, he approached this punch manufacturer to have 8566 punches made. Before placing the order, the manufacturer confirmed with him, \u201cDid you get the 8566 from Yuhui?\u201d He swore up and down that it was Yuhui\u2019s 8566. If you\u2019re going to drive customers away, you might as well not take on this business at all. Not only are there direct copies of 8566, but also \u201cshadow\u201d versions of 8566, and many people have been deceived as a result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 8566 is a chipping-resistant steel designed primarily to solve mold chipping problems. It has accumulated over a thousand case studies across 5 stamping operating conditions, 6 major material types, and 7 major application areas. The chipping resistance of 8566 is 4 times that of SKH-9 high-speed steel and 2 times that of D2. It has a hardness of 58\u201360 HRC. It primarily addresses chipping issues that high-hardness die steels such as D2, DC53, and SKH-9 cannot resolve\u2014particularly in applications like stainless steel stamping, sharp-corner stamping, narrow-flange stamping, and thick-sheet stamping, where standard die steels fail to prevent chipping.
