The rubber material sticks to the mold and cannot be wiped off. It needs to be polished or discharged to remove the slag. Repairing the mold is very troublesome, and there are many products that are produced non-stop for many years. Now I am looking for a die steel that does not stick to the material.

I have seen his products, which have a black appearance and do not require mirror polishing. The main considerations are wear resistance and non stick material performance. The P20 currently used is a low-carbon low-alloy pre hardened plastic die steel made of 3Cr2Mo, with a hardness of 33HRC. The wear resistance is too poor, so the mold is easily eaten, causing the adhesive to penetrate into the mold and cause sticking.

Based on past experience, for molds that are easily eaten, non stick 8503 die steel should be used.

8503 is a non stick die steel with a proprietary alloy ratio for Wu Dejian tool steel. It has a hardness of 55-61HRC and a fracture resistance twice that of DC53. However, compared with DC53, its performance doubles, the price does not double, and it also has the advantage of non stick material. Especially the non stick properties of this material, combined with its high hardness, are the fundamental and effective solution to solve the problem of molds with too much glass fiber being easily eaten, causing the product to run out of shape, and the mold to become rough.

Mr. Wan’s POM injection mold uses P20, which is easy to stick material, and should use 8503, which is non stick material, for the hard mold. As Mr. Yu from Ningbo said, the mold with added fiberglass uses 8503 die steel, which is quite nice. It can be pressed continuously without losing its sharpness!

******

Wu Dejian tool Steel is the user’s chief of staff and everyone who has used it buys it.

Mr. Wan, who just purchased my M316 die steel, called and asked me what die steel to use for injection molding POM so that the mold won’t be eaten. After a detailed conversation, I learned that his mold for injecting POM rubber material now uses P20 die steel, but he can’t produce many products.
