During our 300th live stream, we received some fantastic news.
A viewer from Cangzhou, Hebei, reported that with 0.3-thick steel material and a 32mm draw height, using 8566 steel, they achieved 150,000 draws without any maintenance.
The biggest concern with drawing dies is wire drawing, but 8566 anti-chipping steel, with a hardness of HRC 58–60, managed to withstand 150,000 drawing cycles without maintenance—even at a drawing height of 32 mm and when processing iron material that is prone to wire drawing. This case truly amazed me.
This is also the first documented case of 8566 die steel being used for drawing operations, and the specific service life figure—150,000 cycles—is quite substantial and worth noting.
Feedback from users like this gives me the confidence to recommend this material to the next user.
