When people have free time, they still need to read books, and it’s uncertain when they will be able to use them.
Today I visited the leaders of Kyocera because I had read several books by Kazuo Inamori before, which gave me a turning point in today’s negotiations.
We have been cooperating with Kyocera for 13 years, and there is not much to talk about in business matters. However, when we accidentally talked about their boss Kazuo Inamori, I expressed my opinion and respect for him.
He never expected that a small supplier would have such a deep understanding and admiration for him, Kyocera, and his boss. Some of my opinions would make him look at me with new eyes.
The conversation between Kyocera and Kazuo Inamori gave me a turning point. We had a pleasant conversation, and at the end, he deliberately escorted me to the entrance of the office building. Along the way, we continued to talk about Kazuo Inamori’s heroic deeds.
On the way back, I kept recalling the content of our conversation, which gave me some insights.
Having visited so many clients, this experience has left the deepest impression on me. Reading is still useful.
