The hardness of the previous four copy 8566 die steel was at least imaginable, but now the four copy 8566 doesn’t look like anything, yet someone still pays for it, which surprises me.blog 118

In the past, when mold steel was fake, there were some similarities, at least the hardness values were similar. But now when mold steel is fake, it can look nothing like anything.

Yesterday, I learned about a bizarre case of 8566 forging. Mr. Su made a stainless steel cold heading mold and flattened the annealed material of 201 stainless steel from a 6.5 round rod into 3mm. The mold was initially made of DC53, which could not be used and could easily cause dents and slag to fall off; Later, SKH-9 high-speed steel was used, but it couldn’t be used either. The mold was prone to black spots, and not many products could be produced, resulting in black spots on the surface of the products; Now using four copies of 8566, it is too brittle and easy to break. It is said to be imported from Germany and will crack after 10000-20000 hits, with a hardness of 67HRC.

These four copies of 8566 have all been imported from Germany, and the hardness is still 67HRC. Such high hardness is extremely outrageous, but there are still people who pay for it. In the minds of users, 8566 is a good steel. No matter what type of steel, as long as the name 8566 is used, it will sell well.

I was a bit surprised, “Mr. Su argued,” 8566 hardness is sufficient, but it’s just too brittle.

8566 is a proprietary anti collapse steel developed by Yuhui Tool Steel, which mainly solves the problem of mold cracking. Its anti cracking performance is four times that of high-speed steel SKH-9 and twice that of D2, with a hardness of 58-60HRC. It can solve cracking problems that cannot be solved by high hardness mold steels such as D2, DC53, and SKH-9.

But now, 8566 is already the “four copied” mold steel that peers across the internet are copying, not only four copied 8566, but also shadow 8566; It is also a reference standard for some large steel mills, which is an unprecedented industry phenomenon.

Four copies refer to copying my copy, advertising slogans, case studies, and even the 8566 die steel model, commonly known as “four copies 8566”.

I didn’t expect that this German imported Four Copy 8566, with a hardness of 67HRC, is prone to cracking and its hardness and performance are not up to par. Its fake appearance is unrecognizable, yet someone still pays for it. I was surprised.
