Mr. Chen told me that Q195 iron casters with a tensile strength of 1.1mm have a relatively high tensile height, and Cr12MoV cannot be produced without coating. It is impossible to produce 100 products before starting the wire drawing process. However, using non stick 8503 and stretching 30000 products, there will be a little bit of wire drawing. This case is very precise and has a specific lifespan, I think it can be recorded. Moreover, the 8503 die steel has increased the lifespan of the stretching mold from the original 100 times to 30000 times, which is a huge gap between the old and new societies and worth recording.
The stretching mold is most afraid of sticking to the mold and drawing, which tests the quality of mold steel smelting. Once the mold is drawn, the product will be unqualified and the mold needs to be repaired. Mr. Chen stretched 1.1-thick Q195 iron material and started drawing the Cr12MoV wire for 100 products, which requires repairing the mold. This production cannot be done. Even if you can produce the coating, the cost of Cr12MoV plus the cost of heat treatment is more than 100 yuan per kilogram. Moreover, the probability of Cr12MoV coating overturning is very high. Once overturned, the loss is very serious. The coating is wasted, the mold steel is wasted, and the mold is scrapped. The loss is not only the material cost of more than 10 yuan per kilogram.

Cr12MoV is a high carbon steel with a carbon content of 1.5%, and the microstructure of high carbon steel has microcracks. In addition, the price of Cr12MoV is extremely low, the smelting quality is poor, and the segregation of mold steel is very serious. There are a large number of microscopic and fine cracks that cannot be seen by the naked eye in the structure. During the stretching process of iron materials, when encountering fine cracks, adhesive wear of the adhesive material will occur, which is what you call adhesive bonding. Once adhesive bonding occurs, the product will start pulling, which means the product is defective and the mold will be scrapped.
But now there are only a few scratches after 30000 uses of 8503, indicating that the non stick 8503 die steel is very suitable for stretching molds.
8503 is a proprietary non stick mold steel from Yuhui Company, with a hardness of 59-61HRC. Its toughness is twice that of DC53, and compared with DC53, its performance doubles without doubling its price. It also has the benefits of non stick materials, especially for stretching molds, which are very friendly.
Mr. Chen is currently stretching 1.1mm Q195 iron casters, which have a relatively high stretching height. Using non stick material 8503, he can make 30000 products. This specific case has a specific lifespan, and it is worth recording in a video.
Of course, if you are willing to apply a coating to the non stick 8503 die steel, it will achieve twice the result with half the effort.
If you happen to be making stretching molds and the molds are prone to wire drawing, using Cr12MoV will cause them to collapse even with coatings. If you use SKD11, D2, and DC53, they are all prone to wire drawing and have a short lifespan. If you need to repair the molds repeatedly and want to change the current situation, you can try using non stick 8503 die steel.
