This is a narrow edge I-shaped punch with a relatively large amount of drift, and the punch width is close to the plate thickness, with a stamping ratio of nearly 1:1. This harsh working condition requires extremely high anti cracking performance. DC53 is a high carbon steel with poor anti cracking performance and is prone to collapse, so only 8566 die steel can be used.
8566 is a proprietary anti collapse steel developed by Yuhui Tool Steel, which mainly solves the problem of mold cracking; It has accumulated over a thousand cases in 5 working conditions, 6 major materials, and 7 major fields of stamping.
The anti cracking performance of 8566 is four times that of high-speed steel SKH-9 and twice that of D2, with a hardness of58-60 HRC. It can solve the cracking problem that cannot be solved by high hardness tool steels such as D2, DC53, and SKH-9; Especially in harsh working conditions such as stainless steel stamping, sharp corner stamping, narrow edge stamping, punch width less than plate thickness, and stamping ratio less than 1:1, the cracking that cannot be solved by conventional tool steel is solved by using 8566 anti collapse steel.
Mr. Lin, a customer from Shantou, punched 2.3-wide tweezers on 3mm thick 430 stainless steel. The punch width is smaller than the plate thickness, and the stamping ratio is less than 1:1. The DC53 punch is prone to corner breakage, but the lifespan of 8566 is three to four times that of DC53.
Therefore, Mr. Hu’s continuous punching 2.3 acid washed plate, I-shaped 2.75-wide narrow edge punch, and DC53 always break, you should use 8566 anti collapse steel.
The use of 8566 die steel for punch cracking is a double-edged sword in both old and new societies.
