What kind of mold steel is good for electric wood molds? H13 mold steel pulled out of the groove after tens of thousands of times.blog 111

I just received a consultation from Mr. Luo about electric wood molds. The mold temperature is heated to 160-170 ℃, and the H13 hardness is HRC52. It is prone to wear and tear, with white lines, pits, and wear after tens of thousands of cycles. What kind of mold steel should be used for electric wood molds?

Electric wood powder contains a lot of fillers, which causes serious erosion to the mold. Mold steel should be selected for wear resistance and non stick material. H13 is a medium carbon steel with a carbon C content of 0.38%, which has good toughness but low carbon C content and poor types of carbides, resulting in poor wear resistance and inability to resist the erosion of electric wood powder on the mold. Therefore, the mold will be pulled out of the groove. He has white lines and dents after doing tens of thousands of times now, which also proves this point.

This cannot be solved, we can only replace the mold steel with higher hardness and better wear resistance. Based on the performance requirements of the mold and past case experience, I recommend the non stick 8503 mold steel.

8503 is a non stick mold steel exclusive to Wu Dejian Mold Steel. Its toughness is twice that of DC53, and its hardness is 55-61HRC. However, compared with DC53, its performance is doubled, its price is not doubled, and it also has the advantage of non stick material. Especially the non stick properties of this material, combined with its high hardness, are the fundamental and effective solution to solve the problem of molds with too much glass fiber being easily eaten, causing the product to run out of shape, and the mold to become rough.

Mr. Li injected reinforced plastic with 30% nylon and fiberglass, which has a reverse buckle structure. The S136 is quenched and hardened, and he couldn’t produce many products before being pulled out into grooves. However, he used non stick 8503 mold steel and produced it for a year and a half without any feeling of strain.

Mr. Yu from Ningbo said: The mold for adding fiberglass is made of 8503 mold steel, which is quite nice. It can be pressed continuously without any sharp edges!
